Adaptive Under-Frequency Load Shedding Control Strategy of Power Systems With Wind Turbines and UHVDC Participating in Frequency Regulation

Represented by wind turbines and ultra high-voltage DC (UHVDC), the power-electronic interfaced power sources participate in fast frequency control, which has a significant impact on system frequency. However, conventional under-frequency load shedding (UFLS) scheme doesn’t take into account above, resulting unreasonable after large loss of generation. To this end, article proposes an adaptive UFLS control strategy systems with UHVDC participating regulation. Firstly, based virtual inertia model primary UHVDC, study establishes simplified response considering participation Furthermore, active characteristics regulation magnitude deficiency is comprehensively analyzed. Thus precise estimation can be achieved, provides technical guidance for multi-stage UFLS. Finally, simulation results demonstrate that proposed capable reflecting more objectively generation event. In addition, outperforms terms less amount when same desired effect recovery achieved.
